Best time to go
October to March is the standard window, cool enough for fort walking and safaris. April and May are very hot; the monsoon (July–September) is brief but can green Udaipur beautifully. Ranthambore closes roughly July to September.

Ranthambore or Pushkar as the fourth stop on this Rajasthan route?
Ranthambore suits groups who want wildlife and can accept that tiger sightings are never guaranteed; book safaris in the same zone months ahead and set expectations clearly. Pushkar suits groups more interested in culture, the lake, and the temple town, and it is an easy half-day stop between Jaipur and Jodhpur rather than a detour. During the Pushkar camel fair in November, the town is a highlight in its own right but hotels are scarce and priced accordingly. Some groups do both by adding a night, which turns this into a ten-day itinerary.
How much driving does this involve, and can any legs be flown?
The longest drives are Ranthambore to Jodhpur (around six to seven hours) and Jaipur to Ranthambore (about four). Jodhpur to Udaipur via Ranakpur is four to five hours and scenic. There are no useful domestic flights between these cities for a touring group, so the vehicle is the route; break the Jodhpur leg with a lunch stop and consider an extra half-day rather than pushing a long drive and sightseeing into the same day.
Are heritage hotels worth the upgrade for groups?
In Rajasthan the accommodation is part of the product. A restored haveli in Jodhpur or a lakeside heritage hotel in Udaipur materially improves the trip and is often only a modest premium over a standard four-star. For larger groups, check that the heritage property can hold the whole group in similar room categories, since many have only a handful of the best rooms.
