Best time to go
March to early May for blossom and snow still on Apharwat; June to August for green meadows and comfortable trekking; December to February for snow and the Gulmarg ski scene. The Amarnath yatra season (July–August) congests Pahalgam and Sonamarg.

How can an agent add Sonamarg or the Tulip Garden to this Kashmir template?
Sonamarg fits as a seventh day: a long day trip from Srinagar or an overnight before shifting to Pahalgam, with a Thajiwas glacier pony ride as the main activity. It is only worth including from May onward, when the Zoji La side of the road is clear. The Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden is a simple half-day add to the Srinagar sightseeing day, but it is only in bloom for roughly three weeks from late March to mid-April, so confirm dates before promising it. Both additions are better handled by extending the trip than by compressing the existing days.
Is the Gulmarg gondola reliable enough to promise clients?
Phase 1 to Kongdoori runs in most weather; phase 2 to Apharwat closes frequently for wind, snow loading, or maintenance, sometimes at short notice. Sell phase 1 as the inclusion and phase 2 as weather-dependent and payable locally, and warn clients that queues in peak season can be long, so an early start matters. On a poor-weather day, the meadow, the church, and a short walk still make the trip worthwhile.
Houseboat for the whole stay or just one night?
One night is the template default: it gives the experience without the constraints of limited bathrooms, lake noise, and being ferried by shikara for every outing. Families who specifically want the houseboat atmosphere can do two nights on a well-reviewed deluxe boat with attached modern bathrooms, but most travellers are more comfortable moving to a hotel for the rest of the trip.
