Best time to go
October to mid-May is the dry, calm window with the best visibility for snorkeling and diving. The southwest monsoon from late May to September brings rough seas that disrupt ferries and Elephant Beach trips.

Why do ferry timings matter so much on this Andaman itinerary?
Inter-island travel runs on a small number of government and private catamaran sailings per day, mostly in the morning, and they sell out in peak season and cancel in rough weather. That means the itinerary must be built around confirmed ferry slots first and sightseeing second: a missed morning ferry usually costs a whole day because there is no afternoon alternative. Agents should book premium private ferries (Makruzz, Nautika, Green Ocean) as soon as they open, keep a buffer on the departure day so a cancelled return ferry does not cause a missed flight, and avoid promising same-day island-to-island-to-flight connections.
Is one night on Neil Island worth the extra ferry legs?
For couples who want quiet, yes. Neil is smaller, slower, and less developed than Havelock, and the Natural Bridge and Laxmanpur sunsets are genuinely good. For couples who mainly want beach resorts and activities, it can be dropped in favour of a fourth night on Havelock, which has the stronger hotel range and the marquee Radhanagar Beach. A day trip to Neil from Havelock is possible but tight and not restful.
How does an agent add a couple of days to this template?
The easiest additions are a second night on Neil for full downtime, a night at a beach resort on the quieter northern end of Havelock, or a day trip to Ross and North Bay islands from Port Blair on the first or last day. Baratang and the limestone caves are a long, rough day trip and only for clients who specifically want them.
