Best time to go

October and November give the clearest mountain views, and March to April is also good. The monsoon from June to August hides the mountains behind cloud, slows the roads and can disrupt Pokhara flights.

Should the client fly or drive between Kathmandu and Pokhara?

The flight takes about 25 to 30 minutes but is weather dependent and can be delayed, especially in the monsoon. The drive takes six to seven hours and is scenic but tiring. Offer a flight one way and a drive the other for clients who want both, and keep the connecting day flexible.

What entry requirements apply for Indian travellers?

Indian citizens generally do not need a visa for Nepal but must carry an accepted photo ID, and rules can change, so confirm the current requirements before the client travels. Foreign passport holders need a visa and should have the current process checked. State the ID requirement in the quote.

How can this trip be extended?

Add Chitwan National Park for a jungle safari on the way back, a Nagarkot or Bandipur night for mountain views, or a short trek from Pokhara for active clients. Each adds a night or two, and the Chitwan drive fits well between Pokhara and Kathmandu.
