Voice input
Powered by Sarvam AI
When you tap the mic on the New Trip form, Itiner sends that recording to Sarvam AI’s speech-to-text API and gets back a transcript — nothing more. Here’s what that means for you.
What it does
Trip briefs often arrive as a spoken conversation before they’re ever typed anywhere — a call, a voice note, a walk-in. Itiner’s voice input lets you speak that brief in Hindi, another Indian language, or English, and get it transcribed straight into the form instead of typing it out by hand. You always see the transcript before anything is submitted, so nothing goes into a trip unreviewed.
Who Sarvam AI is
Sarvam AI is an Indic language AI company building speech and language models for Indian languages. This feature is built with Sarvam AI’s speech-to-text API, made available to Itiner through Sarvam’s startup program.
What we send, and what we don’t
- Only the audio you record when you tap the mic is sent — nothing is recorded in the background.
- The transcript comes back to your browser for you to review and edit before it’s used anywhere.
- We don’t send your account details, other trip data, or anything beyond that one recording.
- Voice input is optional. Typing or pasting the brief works exactly as before if you’d rather not use it.
Sarvam AI is listed as a sub-processor in our privacy policy because a recording can include what a client said about themselves — their name, contact details, or budget, spoken aloud.
