This Cookie Policy explains how Itiner (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on itiner.in. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve user experience, and provide reporting information. We also use similar technologies such as local storage tokens.
Under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), storing information on a user's device requires appropriate notice and, where required, consent.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are essential for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled.

2.2 Analytics Cookies
These help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, and only after you accept analytics cookies. Google acts as our processor for this data and may process it on servers outside India; see our Privacy Policy for details.

2.3 Local Storage
We use browser local storage (not cookies) for certain preferences that persist between sessions.

2.4 Embedded Maps (client portals)
A trip's client portal can show a route map embedded from Google Maps. It does not load automatically: the viewer has to press “Show route map”. Once loaded, Google sets its own cookies and receives the viewer's IP address, as it would on Google Maps itself. If the map is not opened, nothing is sent to Google.
We do not use: advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, social media pixels, or fingerprinting technologies. The only third-party embed anywhere on the Service is the click-to-load Google map described in 2.4.
3. Your Choices
Browser Settings
You can configure your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being set. However, disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the Service.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies are off by default. No analytics scripts are loaded and no request is made to Google until you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner. To change your choice later, use Cookie settings in the site footer, or clear this site's data in your browser. You can also email [email protected].
Clearing Local Storage
You can clear local storage data via your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → Clear). This will reset UI preferences.
4. Consent
Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent as they are essential to deliver the Service you have requested. Analytics cookies require your consent: on your first visit we show a cookie banner, and the analytics scripts (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics) are not loaded unless you select “Accept”. Selecting “Decline” loads nothing.
You may withdraw consent at any time using Cookie settings in the site footer, which reopens the banner. Withdrawal stops further analytics loading but does not affect processing that already took place.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or change cookies. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email.
